Opting for a 4x4 tire wheel package and you can get a better bang for your buck.

Having two sets of tires and wheels has certain advantages. In the winter time you might want to use tires with nails to make them less slippery during icy conditions on or off road. During summer such tires are usually not allowed and generally don't provide better grip.

Keep in mind the following when selecting your 4x4 tire wheel package:

  1. Begin by selecting the proper tire you want to use. Base your selection on the size and tread as well as it's ability to air-down. For selecting the right type and size read my recommendations on 4x4 wheels and tires.

  2. If you found such a tire you can see if you can use the wheel that goes with it. Don't hesitate to walk away from the deal if the right bolt pattern is not available or if you think the wheel does not live up to your standards.

I often find it hard to get the wheel size I need.

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There are so many highway bound posers that never go off the pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in Iceland is really refreshing.
