  • A note from the editor
I have been on a short vacation. With so much to do and so little time I haven't been able to do all the things I wanted to. A LOT of time was spent on fixing the Dodge Stratus. The head I got was from a younger model and I had to get a new one from Pennsylvania!

My hut is also getting closer to the finished state at the outside. The new door is now in place and the sheeting around the windows is ready. The placing of the hut is the best. We took a long five hour hike yesterday up to a nearby mountain peak.

A good highland roads trip with friends to their nice little hut with sight-seeing and mountain climbing was also fitted in.

My friend Ben from Queenstown in South-Africa has sent me a photo of his new Toyota pick up truck. Congratulations Ben!

  • Formula Off Road
If you want to go to the extreme in modification I recommend you take a look at the Formula Off Road. In this amazing off road competition sport some of the most powerful trucks are used to traverse incredibly demanding tracks. They compete in speed as well as distance traveled. These trucks can really climb vertical mountain sides as well as skate on water!

There are two classes of trucks:
Street Class - are legal on roads if used with street legal tires.
Modified Class - can be modified without restrictions.

All trucks must be equipped with a number of safety features like a 5 point safety belt, a roll cage and a helmet for the driver.

  • Ban 4x4 vehicles in London and other big cities?
Engaging four-wheel drive in large cities is probably not necessary most of the time but the recent talk of banning them altogether seems a bit extreme. Opponents of 4x4's claim that they are causing environmental damage, create congestion and a threat to drivers in smaller cars.

Although these claims are completely unfounded, these voices are unfortunately taken up by leaders of these large cities.

As a reminder, here are the facts:

    - Four-wheel drive vehicles do not emit more poisonous stuff than other cars.

    - 4x4's take no more space than other cars (and those that do carry more passengers).

    - Research shows that four-wheel drive vehicles do not cause more damage or injury to other road users.

If you are in a position to let the authorities hear these facts I urge you to do so!

Manufacturers of the less off-road capable 4x4's like Honda CR-V, BMW X5 and others are even said to be considering making two wheel drive versions of these cars. They reason that nobody uses the four-wheel drive anyway! This is just stupid!

  • Do you have a passion?
    I am sure you do!
Are you interested in knowing more about the internet and how to be a part of the fastest growing marketplace in the world?
I have put up a special section for downloading high quality e-books. These e-books have changed the way I look at the internet and the possibilities it represents! I suggest you download the ones that interest you and I would love to hear your thoughts on them.
If you like you can send me questions about how you can go about starting your own site. The space of ideas is without limits. Your experience and knowledge is something you can and should share with the world. It will make the world richer in so many ways.

    Best wishes,
