A Note From The Editor

Hope you had a great time at the Easter holidays to go 4 wheeling! With the rapidly rising gas prices this is turning into a true luxxury.

I had plans to go with Einar last weekend - but that trip didn't happen... Well - another trip will hopefully come up soon :)

A set of brand new tires are coming my way. They are 39.5 inches tall and should be interesting for you to see how they turn out. I will do a full write-up of the results in an upcoming article. Stay tuned.

I just received this email from a fellow Sport Trac owner:

------------------------------
First Name: Jon
Last Name: R*
E-mail Address: j....
Country:
Subject: Sport Trac
Message: I am a fellow owner of a Sport Trac and I can say that you really make some Trac owners proud with what you've done. Particularly over at mysporttrac.com

What I was really wondering though was where did you get your fender flares?

I'd appreciate any info on how I could get something similar on my Trac. Thanks for the info I appreciate it.

-Jon
------------------------------

Thanks Jon!

The Icelandic fender flares sure look cool! Unfortunately they are pretty expensive for the demanding US market. A set of fender flares run from $1000 and up (way up!). In addition the shipping costs are high because of the space they need. The fenders on my Sport Trac are custom built from a set of Nissan pickup fenders. Your can read more about the fenders here. http://www.4x4offroads.com/custom-sport-trac-fender-flares.html

Range Rover Air Suspension Range Rover Air Suspension
At first I had an Efi gasoline Classic which gave me very good moments for 15 years and which I still keep. Later I acquired a New Range P38 and the truth is that I was desperate with the air suspension. My Range spent a total of 70 days in the repair garage throughout 2 years due to the air suspension. The problems were constant. And the worse part is than they were not solved!
One of a kind driveway build! One of a kind driveway build!
I started my driveway build with a stock 1993 Chevy K1500 plow truck. The only working space I had was a single wide driveway as I don't have a garage to work in. My intensions were to build a 4X4 that would turn heads as well as perform.
Willys in Pakistan Willys in Pakistan
In Pakistan Willys are really popular specially in Rawalpindi, a city of Pakistan. In Rawalpindi there's an area where all the Jeeps specially 1942 Willys and 1952 M3bs are restored. Here it's easy because we can find their original bodies and parts from auction.
Rainy season "fun in the mud" Rainy season "fun in the mud"
During December/January 2007 my colleagues and I at I Dream Africa Safaris, had enough of providing exciting 4x4 tours for our clients and needed some dirt time for us selves. Our tour was split in two parts, the first being Dammaraland and Kaokoland in the north west of our country, being Namibia and the second leg being the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

GPS - Compare Best Prices & Brands

GPS systems come in various shapes and sizes. In the early days GPS systems were big and bulky and the cost was way out of reach for the average traveler. Now the GPS systems are getting smaller by the year and the functionality and usefulness is constantly growing.

The hardest part is now to compare prices and features between brands.

GPS-Compare.com is now live and can help you select the right tool for your needs.

GPS Compare

GPS Compare is the newest member of my series of BANS - Make Your Own Niche Store sites. You should be able to find a GPS system for any use and the price range is wide:

Readers Rigs Are On!

If you have a 4x4 you feel proud of and want to show others - please don't hesitate to submit pictures and descriptions.

Already there are a number of nice trucks up. My plan is to make these pages high-quality and accessible and I need your help in doing so. Almost all 4x4's are unique and I am sure yours is in some way. Share your experience and allow the rest of the 4 wheeling world to see your truck and how it is used...

Take some time in describing your 4x4 and how you enjoy it. Use as many words as needed. As more rigs are added I get more picky - choosing only interesting rigs with lots of information and an unusual story.

Here is the page for submitting your 4x4 and looking at other readers trucks.

Thrandur.net

I recently started to write a blog about various things that are on my mind. I got the domain thrandur.net and you are most welcome to drop by and make comments to the posts I make there.

Most of the content on that site is business related and the theme is: digital technology, dream business and design success. In particular I talk about the ideas and products I am trying out and how well they work for me in practice.
