Essential Iceland Off Road: Thingvellir and the Langjökull glacier jeep tour.

Things you will see on this Iceland tour:
Glacier, waterfalls, lava fields and lava caves, hot springs
Languages: English (French, Scandinavian, German up on request)
This day tour begins in Reykjavik and from there we drive to Thingvellir
National Park, site of the ancient Viking parliament which dates back to
930 AD. Next we drive through the barren mountain pass of Kaldidalur
(the Cold Valley) to Langjökull glacier where we will strap on some
crampons (summer only) for an easy glacier walk under professional
supervision, of course. In winter, we deflate our monster size tires and
take our super jeeps for a ride on the glacier. From Langjökull glacier,
we continue to Hallmundarhraun, a lava area where Surtshellir, one of
Iceland's biggest and most spectacular lava caves is to be found. After
caving, we will continue down the Borgarfjördur valley and visit the
waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss. Then, we pass the historic site
of Reykholt and have a look at Europe's largest hot spring before
returning to Reykjavik via the Hvalfjördur fjord.

Duration: 9 - 11 hours
Departures: Saturdays and Sundays at 09:00
Additional departures: upon request, minimum 3 passengers
Included: Driver-tour guide, crampons (late summer), helmets and
headlights (for caving).
Not included: Lunch (we highly recommend bringing a bag lunch)
Price**: 19.900 ISK (Approx: 252 USD / 198 EUR per person.)
*In winter and spring we might have to alter the itinerary due to road
conditions.
** Please note that the stated prices in USD’s and EUR’s are variable
due to the fluctuation of exchange rates.

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
