Land Rover Defender
The Land Rover Defender 110 'the x 4x4' is the best in my view, if your using your 4x4 to work and drive off road and not for looking good.
I have seen the Defender 110 keep going when all others have got stuck, blown out or simply refused to go further. they are great for pulling weight, true off roading, and just generally being tough. spare parts are not too expensive and they are not simply one massive computer.
They put their power down very well with loads of torque and make the best of what their engine has to offer, you simply don't need 7 liters with a Land Rover.
Only thing that comes close to Land Rover, in my opinion of course, is a Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser, cannot be stopped, and more comfort than a Land Rover. you must check what a programme called 'top gear' (UK) did to a Hilux. It involves sinking it and placing it on top of a building that was then blown up - it still worked, not a word of a lie
I know the F150 is the most sold auto in the world but I don't see why, unbalanced, bad interior quality, terrible attempt at putting down power and the steering is non responsive to the point of danger and Fords tend to get loose over time, esp if its off roading.
I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
