You could ask: What do I care about environmental issues?
As a responsible 4 wheeler you should follow the tread lightly pledge. Make no harm to sensitive vegetation or geographical formations. Leaving the area behind you better than when you came.
At the same time you have as an off roader most likely felt the ever increasing pressure to regulate how and where your 4x4 is used. Your knowledge of the outdoors should be heard if not for other purposes than keeping the discussion on the right track.
