I would like to take it up and fit 38 inch tyres.

I have just returned from a holiday/ first visit to meet my wife's mother.. We took the car as we needed to collect the remainder of her stuff to take to our new home in England's Lake District. So we land off the ferry and start the long cross country drive, within 10min I saw the most fearsome vehicle coming toward us, What is that I screamed, calmly she replies "what, oh that, everyone here has one". You see my wife just happens to be from Iceland, (my new favorite country).. I would like to take my car off road there very soon but need to make a few adjustments namely take it up enough to fit 38 inch tyres without too much body destruction. So if anyone can help with how to and where to buy I would love some response.
