1994 Mitsubishi Pajero SWB 3L petrol V6.

I bought my Pajero about 2 years ago and have since then put a lot of time and money into. I was lucky with the purchase as it belonged to a young lady so had not seen any off road use before I bought it.

It has the super select 4WD system as well as adjustable shocks and hydraulic suspension which lifts the body about 10cm at the push of a button. Most of my modifications have been to the engine though, more (reliable) power equals better and more fun off-road performance. Changes are as follows: Tops have been gasflowed, skimmed and ported. Performance camshafts have replaced the standard ones. Headers and 65mm free flow exhaust system has been added as well as a K&N airflow induction kit. And all is controlled and tweaked by a Dastek Unichip.

I also have a dual battery system to power the sound system, which includes pioneer subwoofers and StarSound amplifiers. I also added a hi-lift jack, Bosch spotlights and on-board air, plus recently added a set of Yokohama Mud Terrain's mounted on two-piece stainless steel American Pro rims. Also added are a few steel belly plates to protect all the important bits when the going gets rough. On the inside small changes to the dash and a nardi tarino custom steering wheel. To be added soon is another pair of spotlights, rear mounted winch and a snorkel.

I go off roading all over southern Africa when I get the time. In the last year I have added about 48000 km to my vehicle, usually we are a small group consisting of all kinds of off road vehicles.

When time is limited we do small trips here in Namibia, which ranges from mountain trails to sand dunes and dry river beds, as long as it is off road and eco-friendly we just have a great time. We only have mud in the rainy season so when it rains we take full advantage.

So basically mainly rocks, sand and ditches. Most of our trips we do camping which is great here, with all the animals.

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
