If you are on a long off road tour with you may have to use cans of fuel to get to the next gas station. Getting the fuel from the cans to the fuel tank can be tricky. If you have a pump that you use for the tires after airing down you can use it for fuel transfer also.
The preparation is simple:
o Find an extra cap that fits your fuel cans
o Drill a hole to fit a normal tire valve in it
o Drill another hole and insert a long hose that can reach the tank opening
o Use silicon to make sure the cap is airtight
Filling up is done by fastening the cap with the hose on the fuel and and connecting the other end to the tank opening. Then using the air pump to make the fuel flow until the can is empty. - Just be careful not to overfill the tank!
I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
