Góðan daginn, hello everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted on this forum, when I had the crazy idea to visit a Formula Offroad event in Norway, but that idea faded. BUT now I'm coming to Iceland from 14 to the 24th of May and I'm going to visit the Hella event!
Now I do have a few questions about the Hella event and I do hope someone can help me with those.
- Is it still going to happen? Not cancelled by any unforeseen cause?
- I found directions from Thrandur to the track area (from Hella): "Take road #1 east to the town of Hella. Continue 2 km east and turn left on #264 "Rangárvallavegur". The area is about 1 km north to the right."
Are those fool proof, cause I don't know what to expect from the road situation over there and would hate to get lost (I'm used to satnav in a car
- Does anyone know how to get to the sweet spots with better photographic opportunities (I would so love to get great pictures)?
- And the last one: WHO's is coming with me??
There's also a Blues festival in Hella, so also nice things to do after a long day at the event track.
See you there,

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.

It is fun to read about other people's
Offroading adventures and also learning from the up and downs of
their adventure!
