Land Rover Billing Show 2008

Summer is fast approaching and, for Land Rover enthusiasts all over Europe this can only mean one thing. It’s what all Landy forums have been talking about since the beginning of the year.

The Land Rover Billing Show takes place each year in Northampton,
England and is without doubt the biggest gathering of Land Rovers of
the year, bringing together every model that came out from the
factory, from the famous Hue 166, which is the oldest surviving
Rover today, to unconventional cars, modified for extreme off road
racing, being ambulances, fire trucks and whatever other use the
famous car has been put to.

Furthermore, the show announces itself to be one of the best yet,
helped by the fact that the company has just celebrated it’s 60th
anniversary on the 30th of April. Land Rover Monthly organizes the
event between 18th and 20th of July in the beautiful vicinity of the
Billing Mill, once a water mill and now one of the most profitable
inns in England. Over 300 camping grounds are available for anyone
at low costs, with various upgrades like electrical links and
others, the price of a space includes entrance to the show all
weekend for one vehicle with tent, two adults and two children or
three adults.

What would one expect to see? For starters all the big traders in the off road business will be there: Warn, ARB, Goodyear, Simex, Devon 4x4 and this is just the beginning. Everybody will be setting up promotion tents, selling tyres, winches, drive shafts, spot lights, chequered plates and everything else you’d need for an off road car at a knock-down price. This is a unique chance to check for modifications, restorations for your Landy, see the projects people and companies have worked on over the year, and enroll if you’d like in one of the many Land Rover Clubs across the UK.

This is a double
opt-in e-zine. Double opt-in means that after you subscribe you will
be sent an automatic response. There you are given a link to click on to
activate the subscription. No Head Off Road newsletter will be sent
unsolicited.

4x4 Buyers Guide

Like every year there will be trials, unveiling of the latest in off
roading equipment and supplies, axle-twisters and of course a track
with mud and all, for every car to be able to partake, whether it’s
a standard Freelander or a “Competition 90”. There are sections of
tracks for all cars with built-in by-passes for those who don’t want
to push their cars around too much. On the other hand, for those of
you do, at any point in time when you feel like the mud on the tyres
is too dry, feel free to just walk across the bridge from the
showroom, climb in the car and drive it through the muddy tracks
that the LRM has installed for you. It all comes down to a wonderful
time amongst lovers of the green oval.
