Mitsubishi Montero 3.2 DID - 2006

Bernd Schmidt is an off-road fan who learned about 4x4s and offroading in the Chilean sand dunes. He lives in Santiago de Chile, married w 2 girls and all of them love to travel, explore, learn about different places out of the common routes.

What modifications have you done for your 4x4 and what are your future plans?
Suspension lift with coil-over, ECU re flash, roof rack led bars, rear locker (my version came without) snorkel, 285/79/17 BF Goodrich KO II tires, 17” wheels w -12 offset and some other stuff

Next after money - what's most challenging when lifting your 4x4 truck?
Because of the nature of my front suspension getting 2” or more becomes complex.

Where do you go wheeling and what is the terrain like?
I love sand dunes, Chile has a lot, 1.5 hours from home is Ritoque a nice spot and more to the north we have the driest dessert in the world.

Tell us about an interesting experience you had on the trail!
A lot, but the best is the share with others, everyone get in and all come out, that team spirit is unique.
