Just wondering what you guys use in Iceland ? Unfortunately most tire manufacturers only make the wide (15"+ width) tires up to 38". I've tried to use bias ply tires (mickey T's 39x18x15) at my property near Lake Tahoe, but they just didn't float the same way radials do, especially in the dry deep snow.
I've had very good results with the 38x15x15 radials and staun beadlocks, but just need more floatation (a 38" radial aired down to 1# = ~ the same rim height as a 33" tire aired down to 1#, just allot wider).
In the soft(dry) snow (that doesn't pack) do the bias ply's work ok for you guys ?
Thanks
SJB

Hey Sam!
We don't have the soft / dry snow you're used to.
It is usually more packed and wet.
The 44 inch Dick Cepec is popular and even bigger tires for the biggest trucks.
All the best,

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
