Rc-Foff 2009

Finland Cup Comp 2 at Säkylä

Rc-Foff Finland Cup is on the road again. Säkylä is in southern Finland. Nearby Turku. The weather was cloudy, but there wasn't any rain in the whole day. Street Class had only one driver today, and we decided to drop it from this race. So there were only four classes: Unlimited XL, Unlimited GP, Modified and Unlimited.

Competition begins:

Lassi-Jussi and Arto came to the pit in Friday night. They've got a nice camper car.

Others came in Saturday morning. There were ten drivers in total today.

Lauri and Samu were doing some set ups to their cars. Pekka is watching closely, so he can learn something about Helltoy. Samu was having problems with transmission and Pekka was giving some good tips also.
 

Unlimited XL:

Mikko Nieminen and The Devil. A really powerful couple, who just won the first race in this season. Here in course number three nice jump over that hump.

Today Mikko manages to keep steady level of performances and he was able to get second place.

Pasi Äkräs with his Dictator. Here he was getting a very good time on the timed course. Today Pasi still made a couple of dumb mistakes, like rolling the car over after first gates on the first track.

But after all, as you can see from the picture, some of the performances were absolutely fantastic like this final course. Full house points from it and the first victory to Dictator was real.

Unlimited GP:

Arto Leinonen and GP class car Contender. Arto was under preassure, because the championship battle is so tough at the moment in GP class. Here he makes a terrible mistake by slowing down too early. The car was stuck.

In the last stage he manages to make a better performance. GP class drove exactly the same courses than XL class, and there were challenge for both of them. Arto wasn't at the end having his best day on the hills. Position number three.

Lassi-Jussi Väänänen and Dragon's Whisper. In previous race this couple was aiming for the second place, and today they were able to get it. In course number two a fantastic performance over steep hill.

Here is Dragon's Whisper in the timed course. This course was really full of speed and dangerous situations, but Lassi did a good time after all.

Here is last race's winning couple, Mikko Nieminen and Road Runner. And they did it again. Even though, it seemed little difficult after this first stage, when engine dumped while Road Runner was rolling down one section of the course.

But rest of the race everything was completely under Road Runners control. Most of the stages he was getting over 300 points, like this one here. Again 20 points to championship, and Road Runner is a way ahead of others!

Modified:

Mikko Nieminen and BJ4. The body was chanced after last race, and now the car looks pretty high. Today it just wasn't BJ4's day and the couple did get the fifth position in their last competition.

Pekka Murtola and Pikku-Pastori. Preassures was on him today, because of last competitions victory. Preassures was too much to Pekka and he dropped to fourth place. Pekka restrain the situation today, maybe even too much?

Saku Sarka and new looking Mangusti. Saku have made some new modifications, which were obviously helping in the race. Here Mangusti is in the first stage.

Here in stage three Mangusti was the only one who was able to make it over that ridge. Nice performace! Today we was able to see some good fight from Mangusti, but it is still stuck in that third position.

Lauri Lahti and Ahmiontti. New car, first time in action and the performance was over the expectations. Here Ahmiontti is in first course. Nice that bug body!

Stage three, the same where Mangusti get almost full house points. Ahmiontti rolled from that ridge, and Lauri just hit the gas. When Ahmiontti dropped to the ground outer shaft end cracked. Today Ahmiontti was near even winning the race, but what he did get was second place. In next races, Ahmiontti will be even closer.

Samu Sarka and Toxoplasma Condii. In the first stage there was pressure on Samu as other drivers said. But after that the driving began to slide again.

Samu had a good day, maybe one of the best for a long time. Victory secured a leading place to him in Rc-Foff Finland Cup.

Unlimited:

Samu Sarka and Helltoy. Samu was leading the cup before this race. In morning tests there were problems with front wheel drive. And after that Helltoy gave us a couple plumes under the hood. Helltoy quit after four stages. Eighth place today, maybe better luck next time?

Janne Edelman and Revolution. Previous race this couple ended up to ninth place. Today driving was better, and Janne was satisfied with result. "Still needs more practicing", as driver said. Today place number seven.

Pauli Tikkanen with Revolution. Pauli uses quite wisely his advantage: youngness. He is practicing like a mad man, so he can learn something new from every moment. Today he was again the one who showed the worst rollover, as you can see in the picture. Good day, especially timed course and Pauli ends up to the sixth position.

Pekka Murtola with his Kanttori. He had put some more power to his machine, and it was probably one of the reasons, which dropped him to fifth place. In the other hand right here, in stage three he was the only one who was able to drive car up there. Not bad.

Pasi Äkräs and HocusPocus. Accelerate finger still needs some fixing, but Pasi is imminently rising to last years level with his performance.

Here Pasi jumps nicely among all others over that sheer. Third place today and Pasi can be happy with that result.

Saku Sarka and Painkiller Jane in same sheer that Pasi. Nicely over and manage to drive this course quite good.

Here he is in the same course. Sometimes I feel like those Life batteries are giving too much power. Power should be shared to friends =). Second place today, and Saku keeps hunting that first victory in Rc-Foff Finland Cup.

Lauri Lahti and Nightslayer. Nightslayer put itself back in one piece and now it truthly is slaughtering other competitors.

Nice and steady competing from Nightslayer today, only problem according the driver is that back suspension, which is very difficult to control.

After the competition

This sport is made to have fun and relax with friends. That means everything.

There were nice sunset in the beach. Toxoplasma Condii is posing the victory. That must taste good!
