As we head north and into the highlands we take a short stop to soften the tires a little bit.

Soon - the weather gets better with the clear sky coming through and only some occasional foggy spots.

Oli and co-driver in his Toyota Double Cab has recently swapped his axles for newer and slightly wider Toyota axles.

The snow is mostly rock hard and slippery like ice but with soft patches between.

At 1.100 meters (3700 feet) the view is magnificent.

A few daring people in the group take a hike up this small peak and get the best view and some good exercise.

I installed a camera bracket on the dashboard and fitted my camcorder there for the trip.

This has been a fantastic use of this beautiful day up in the highlands. From sunrise to sunset.

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There are so many highway bound posers that never go off the pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in Iceland is really refreshing.

The whole 4x4 thing is new to me so i have a lot to catch up on, i am going to get involved in a 4x4 club here in Varna as there are vast amounts of tracks and mountains to explore the news letter is boss:) and i especially like to look at readers rigs

Not all people know how to go offroad,prepare vehicles to go offroad, or know how to get themselfs prepared to go offroad. this website is a wonderful way for people to learn how.I even learn some new tricks.thanks
