I rarely go to car shows. Although I love seeing them, going to these events is something different. However, I had an invitation to check out the tuning show in Bucharest and decided to RSVP it.

Having been to a few of these, I expected lots of race cars, street legal tuning for smaller vehicles and parts. To my surprise, I saw familiar brands on the entrance flags: ARB, Warn, Superwinch – that was new. As I started wondering around, my surprise grew greater and greater, as I saw stands of off road trucks, with clean cars neatly climbed on wood trunks. Among other international brands, some of the important truck services also participated at the event: GTC Service, Taifun Off Road and the local Taubenreuther branch.

GTC Service

By far the largest number of cars from one individual participant, GTC sported modifications for pretty much anything, from spot lights to roll cages. For a complete experience, the guys over at GTC did a good job at presenting a larger number of trucks, some more modified than others.

Taifun Off Road

Ex-Paris-Dakar participant Gabi Nicolae put the bases of a project based off road shop. Having had the Dakar experience, along with other important rally raid and extreme off road events, he has begun constructing some of the most interesting trucks I’ve seen. His team brought forth three projects in various development stages – a treat for any onlooker, allowing for an impressive view into what’s under the hood of an extreme class off road truck.

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
