4x4 Off Roads Buyers Guide FREE VIDEO: 4x4 Off Roads Buyers Guide
In this video series - the 4x4 Off Roads Buyers Guide you will discover how to select your 4x4, how to evaluate off roading trucks and SUVs and how to find them on eBay - and do it all with confidence!

Monday

Spending the night in the vehicles started out a bit chilly. Some watched a DVD movie or browsed the internet. Most were tired and went to sleep early. You get used to the sound of the heavy rain and the wind rocking the truck.

At daybreak we begin to estimate our situation again. The river is still scary. A little upstream the river divides into two smaller streams. Einar sees a possible crossing spot there.

Wading the river

Two guys head on to try and wade the first river to find a good place to cross.

Land Rover crossing the river

Skuli H. Skulason's on his Land Rover Defender is the first to cross.

Land-Cruiser crossing

Hjalmar's Land Cruiser has air-springs front and rear. By increasing the pressure in the air-springs he can raise the SUV. Crossing a deep river you want to get as much of the water under the main body of the vehicle as possible.

Although a bit MUDDY the rest of the trip is not to difficult. Everybody is happy with the tour and eager to take part in the next trip!

I want to thank everybody for a great trip!

We got a good sample of most challenges facing off-roaders in the high-lands. The spirit was good and everybody helped when needed. One for all and all for one!

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There are so many highway bound posers that never go off the pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in Iceland is really refreshing.
