Hi Scott
I found this:
"The 2006 Suburban 2500 Z71 had a maximum towing capacity of 12,000 pounds, with a standard towing capacity of 7,600 pounds, according to MSN Autos. The vehicle also had a standard and maximum payload capacity of 2,526 pounds and a gross vehicle weight of 8,600 pounds. The Z71's towing capabilities were much higher than the other trim versions of the 2006 Suburban line, with the other versions having a maximum towing capacity of 8,200 pounds."

Hope it helps and keep on wheeling,

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
