EIK pumping air

Morning comes and we get ready to drive back. We will not be driving on the glacier so we pump some air in the tires.

Descending the mountain
It is still foggy descending the mountain. Much colder than two days ago...

Pumping air
...instead of 20°C, it is now only 1°C.

The tires are now pumped to normal driving pressure, to get ready for the long trip home to Reykjavik.

Skeidara bridge
Skeidara river is a glacier river and is the longest bridge in Iceland. It is quite narrow with only occasional spots to pass. During floods all the sand is under water and sometimes the bridge it self is damaged.

Crashed DC-3
At the coast we take a look at an old wreck of a crashed DC-3. It is remarkably whole after staying there for 20-30 years.

Trucks on sand
The trip is coming to an end.

A big thank you for all the fellow travelers and to you for reading this!

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There are so many highway bound posers that never go off the pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in Iceland is really refreshing.

It is fun to read about other people's Offroading adventures and also learning from the up and downs of their adventure!
