Glacier Picture
Vatnajokull 8.-10. April 2004
Saturday
Morning comes and we get ready to drive back. We will not be driving on the glacier so we pump some air in the tires.

It is still foggy descending the mountain. Much colder than two days ago...

...instead of 20°C, it is now only 1°C.
The tires are now pumped to normal driving pressure, to get ready for the long trip home to Reykjavik.

Skeidara river is a glacier river and is the longest bridge in Iceland. It is
quite narrow with only occasional spots to pass. During floods all the sand is
under water and sometimes the bridge it self is damaged.

At the coast we take a look at an old wreck of a crashed DC-3. It is remarkably
whole after staying there for 20-30 years.

The trip is coming to an end.
A big thank you for all the fellow travelers and to you for reading this!
