Today is the second round in the Formula Off Road World Cup series. It is also the second day of the off road event in Hella. The day offers nice weather and excellent conditions for driving.
With two fewer tracks and fewer trucks the competition should go smoothly.
A total of 6 tracks that will be driven in each class. The first three are up and down some steep sandbanks the next two are timed courses with the river as the second one and the last track is the mud!

Roar Johansen in his Thunderbolt starts out ok.

Roar gets stuck in what looks like a small puddle in the beginning of the third track. He is not doing too good today and ends up in 10th place overall.

Benedikt Sigfusson manages to take on a few tracks (unlike yesterday) and ends up eleventh overall and third in the modified street class.

Ole Graversen driving the Eagle is only able to start the first track and after some mechanical problems that are too time consuming to fix he finishes last.

Sigurdur Thor Jonsson on the Troll has no problems with that puddle...

...but he has seen better days and ends up in 5th place overall.

Daniel G. Ingimundarson on the Green Thunder.

Daniel is doing slightly better than yesterday and ends up in 8th place overall.

Ragnar Robertsson on his N1 Willys ends up in fourth overall and the first place for the modified street class.

Ragnar finishing the third track.

Gunnar Gunnarsson on the Clown drives very well and ends up with equal points as the winner, only loosing by comparing individual tracks performance.

Gunnar going through the end gate of the third track...

... and speeding on the river.

Olafur Bragi Jonsson is not doing as well as yesterday.

Olafur Bragi Jonsson on the Fox.

Olafur still shows some good moves and ends up in third place overall as well as in his unlimited class.

Leo Vidar Bjornsson in his IronMaiden...

...rolling his truck in the timed course is not helping with his results.

Jon Ingileifsson on the verge of rolling manages to safe himself and the truck this time.

Gisli Gunnar Jonsson on his Steroid. Gisli spent all night swapping engines for the second time this weekend!

After excellent driving today and ruling by the judges he wins the gold today.

Bjarki Reynisson driving the Animal ends up in second place in the modified street class.

This time it was a really close call by the judges. Gisli Gunnar and Gunnar Gunnarsson get the exact same number of points and the winner has to be determined by individual track performance.

Gisli Gunnar Jonsson and Ragnar Robertsson winners in the unlimited and modified street class in the center. Gunnar Gunnarsson and Bjarki Reynisson second place holders in the same classes to the right and Olafur Bragi Jonsson and Benedikt Sigfusson third place on the left.

Gisli Gunnar's Steroid after the mud...

...looks kind of messy on the inside as well!

I really enjoy seeing real 4WD
vehicles in real situations where they are needed. There
are so many highway bound posers that never go off the
pavement here that seeing life or death 4 wheeling in
Iceland is really refreshing.
